Shiloh Pepin, a 10 year girl who was popularly recognized as the ‘Mermaid Girl‘, as she suffered from a rare condition known as ‘Mermaid Syndrome’ died on Friday afternoon.

The 10 year old girl had been admitted to the Maine Medical Center about a week back after she suffered from fever. Although she was was doing well at the beginning, her condition gradually worsened as later she even contracted pneumonia. She was kept on a ventilator and was given antibiotics since then.

Shiloh suffered from a rare disease known as Sirenomelia, popularly known as the Mermaid’s Syndrome which is a rare congenital deformity in which the legs of the patient are fused together which looks strikingly similar to a mermaid’s tail.
